Week 7 day 1 deadlift session, this week setting up for week 8.....

Yesterday witness of the first 300kg bench press in the Netherlands and highest wilks single lift in the Netherlands. Now back to the (my) 'real' world. Week 7 is the week before the heaviest week 'called week 8'. This week means setting myself up for breaking new PR's next week. New PR's after leg injure (muscle torn) and new weight class. Day 1 means deadlifting and I still felt my legs from the squats of Friday. So I was glad that I had to do less weight. I finished with 2x5 185kg (no belt). Next week 220kg (no belt) is on the program. First bench press on Wednesday and beltless squats on Friday......

Finally 1x147,5kg again with bench press

Relieved, finally I bench press more than 145kg. Few weeks ago I failed on 147,5kg and today I got it. Last Sunday I'm inspired by the big benchers on the Gym meet. Altough I have my strugle with RAW bench, I'm glad I made small progress. When I will bench 150kg and a made my sets with 132,5kg, that will be a base to reach the 160kg and sets with 140kg in the first quarter (beginning of the second quarter) of 2015. Today I'm very happy with this achievement and gives my confidence and motivation to get the 150kg next week...

light squat session was hard .....

Although it was a light session on the program, it was a though training to do. I had to do 5x5 160kg (and this is 25kg less than last week). It felt though. Now rest and getting ready for Week 8. Heaviest works in the program. Than I will figure out if I will compete at the RAW nationals.

Today's was harder than I expected. Front squats went less easier than I hoped. I didn't hold the bar tight enough on my chest, so I make it difficult for myself. Therefore the sets (2x3 120kg) went harder than I hoped. The warm-up sets deadlift 5x120kg, 3x160kg went ok. With 190kg I felt...... ummmm..... I will have to pull hard with the 220kg. I fire up the music and I completed both sets with 220kg (5 reps, no belt). This is for me a new personal best on this stage. Now see what will happen to wear a belt. Will this give me support to lift of over the 250kg again. If I compete at the RAW nationals I can open with 235kg/240kg. Now rest and getting ready for my bench press on Wednesday.

What a session. The single and sets "it came from my toes" :-D I'm glad I benched 150kg (although it were 3 red lights). Most important I keep pushing. At stage a new personal best. The sets were tough I completed 4 sets and the 5th set I missed the final rep. Also at this stage I haven't benched triples with 132,5kg. A good attempt with 145kg will be possible. Friday the "big" squat test.

Final day 8 week program "squats"! I'm glad that I squatted the sets 5x3 195kg and 2x205kg (raw with sleeves) Ok, it is still 45kg less I squatted last year http://youtu.be/SyU7s3Ne-0U You can see that my bodyweight was also a little bit different. So at this stage these are my new PB's in squats. In the next 8 week cycles I will going for 5x3 205/210 in week :-) First a week rest (low weight training) and getting ready for the RAW nationals?

Week 0 Day 1 Light training

Next week I will start my 8 week program again. Because I want to have more speed in my sets, I did 3x1 on squats, bench press & deadlift. With squat I did 3x1 180kg. Bench press 3x1 120kg and deadlift 3x1 200kg. Wednesday day 2 and I will do 3x2 and lighter weight, just to focus to speed up my speed.

Monday session was nice, so today I did less weight :-) So day 2 is also a light training session. Only squats and bench press. Squat 3x3 150kg and bench press 3x3 105kg.
Friday no training. Monday starting Week 1 day 1 of the 8 week cycle.

RAW Powerlfting Nationals 2014

Today I competed at the RAW Powerlifting Nationals. I'm pleased how the meet went. I got 9 out of 9. I squatted 210kg, 220kg and 225kg. So with the squat I'm on my way back. With bench press I did 135kg, 140kg and 142,5kg. Deadlift went very good I lifted 235kg, 247,5kg and I finished with 255kg. Total 622,5kg. The meet give my confidence to start my next 8 week RAW cycle. This will be the first step for the (equipped) Powerlifting Nationals, 1st of March. Next cycle start tomorrow ;-)

Day 1 of the new 8 week cycle .......

Yesterday I competed at the RAW nationals and today I started my new 8 week cycle. The meet from yesterday gave me motivation. Most important my leg stay ok. For the first time I torn my muscle in februari this year, with 220kg RAW squat, I squatted finally over 220kg yesterday. Although I have some reaction,  my leg can hold the pressure of 220kg squat again. This makes it for me mentally easier to focus on the new year. First meet will be 1st of March the (equipped) Nationals. Main goal for that meet will be improving my RAW power. Therefore I started today my new cycle and I will finish the cycle on 30th January. After the cycle I got 3 weeks to train with gear. During the 8 week cycle I will do some changes, so I will be ready to train with gear ;-) Today I did my program and deadlifted 2x5 195kg.

Bench press training week 1 ......

Monday I started directly my new program. Bench press went ok at the RAW nationals, knowing I'm not that good a RAW bench (ok at all). Nevertheless I want to crack the 150kg plus in the coming cycle. The reason I want to do that is that it will be helping me to press over the 215kg (220kg) with shirt at the equipped Nationals. I want a hard training today and I made a single with 142,5kg (the same I pressed on the meet last Sunday) followed with 5x5 125kg. Now see what next week will bring, this will be the toughest. First friday squats....

In this trainingscycle I'm focused to squat 5x5 200kg RAW again. Squat training 1 is done 5x5 175kg, so 25kg left to gain the coming weeks. Because my next meet is a gear meeting, I started to do 2 singles with wraps after my RAW squat. This for getting just at the wraps again. The second win is to gaining the weight step by step, so when I start training geared to step to the bigger weights is less compare only the RAW weights. Todays singles were 1x200kg and 1x220kg. Next week 5x5 187,5kg is on the program followed with approx. 1x210kg and 1x230kg with wraps.
